How should I dress?
Business casual is probably the best description of how one should dress to worship. A person shows respect for the Lord and for others by dressing modestly, humbly, and neatly. Distracting, opulent, or revealing clothing is not helpful for focusing on holy things. We aren't going to turn away people who dressed inappropriately, but we would encourage you to consider these things as you join us.
Is the church really formal?
Not entirely. The early service is less formal. It is currently made up more of younger families. There isn't a bulletin or formal liturgy. It plays more modern music, with a praise band.
The later service has a bulletin, a choir, a more formalized liturgy. Even so, while we try to take the Lord and the faith quite seriously, we don't take ourselves so seriously as to be unable to tolerate anything unscripted. The scriptures say that everything a church does in worship should be done "decently and in good order." We do that, at our best.
What about my kids? Are they welcome?
Yes. Christ reprimanded his disciples when they tried to keep the children away. Likewise, we insist that children have a place in worship.
It is a reality that many children lack the ability to control themselves. While we urge parents to train their children to worship well, we also provide a nursery as a pressure release valve for the youngest children.
