FMC Yazoo is a member church of the Global Methodist Church body. We are tied to more than 7,200 congregations in over 30 nations around the world. We share our historic biblical doctrine with all of those churches. The Bible is the source of all true doctrine. It is authoritative. We do not believe anything that is not substantiated in it.
Methodists are not known for having any specific doctrine outside of basic doctrines of grace that all other Christian bodies would largely agree with. Rather, Methodists became distinctive because of our concern for holiness. The word "Methodist" originally conveyed a certain mockery of our revival movement, as our believers were eager to practice methods an discipline in order to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit was indeed pleased to bless our work as an international covenant body, which is why we continue to thrive centuries later.
Our congregation is culturally of the South, but we are working towards a more global identity. More important is the mind of Christ. We are called to be one in Christ, and to forsake ourselves to become more like Him. That is what we are doing week by week, day by day. You should join us. This is the only way to be saved from your sins and escape the coming wrath.
